You will find increasing quiet as you move to each higher floor in the library: "The higher, the quieter."

  • The first and second floors are NOT quiet. These floors welcome normal to enthusiastic conversation. However, we realize all the public computers are on these floors: If you need computer access in a quieter zone, you may borrow a laptop from the Library Service Desk to use with wifi on a quieter floor.
  • The third floor is "partially quiet." This floor permits very quiet discussion when necessary.
  • The fourth floor is silent. This floor permits individual study and is not appropriate for group discussion.
