Q. How do I access an eBook when I get an "Authentication Failed" error?
If the URL to the eBook looks like this: https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/shsu/detail.action?docID=5847665, take the docID number at the end (highlighted) and add it to the end of this URL: https://ezproxy.shsu.edu/login?url=http://shsu.eblib.com/patron/FullRecord.aspx?p= then try Option 2 from below.
Option 1: Clear your browser's cache and cookies from the Engine Orange Search results.
Option 2: Use a direct link to the eBook from your professor, class materials, or the search results page.
Option 3: Search for the eBook from the eBook Central Platform.
